Gad Elmaleh
Gad Elmaleh (Hebrew: גד אלמלח; (アラビア語: جاد المالح); (:ɡad‿ɛlmalɛ); born April 19, 1971) is a Moroccan French stand-up comedian and actor who lives and works in France. He has starred in several feature films, including ''Coco'', ''Hors de prix'', ''La Doublure'' and ''Midnight in Paris''. == Early years == Elmaleh was born in Casablanca, Morocco. Being a Moroccan Sephardic Jew,〔(Jewish Journal: "Film fest gala a spicy melting pot for Sephardic Jews" By Danielle Berrin ) November 16, 2010〕 Gad Elmaleh was brought up in a culturally diverse environment, speaking Moroccan Arabic, Hebrew, English and French. Son of David Elmaleh and Régine Elmaleh. He has a brother, Arié, actor and singer, and a sister, Judith, actress and stage director. He studied a few years in Morocco at Lycée Lyautey in Casablanca〔Lycée Lyautey (Casablanca)〕 before he studied political science in Montreal for four years, then moved to Paris to study drama. His first one-man show ''Décalages'', performed at the "Palais des glaces" in 1997, was autobiographical.
